Brisbane billycartsThe Rotary Club of Carindale has presented the Brisbane Billycart Championships for 12 years. The Billycart Championships are held on a grass track and kids of all ages (including adults) from all over South East Queensland are invited to make and race their own billycart. If you can’t build a cart, you may borrow one of 20 loan carts – at no charge.

Our youngest entrants will start the day’s events from 7.30am, to experience driving a billycart, down the slope about 15 metres. These young ones will be released by hand on the grass slope below the launch ramps. Their races will be non-competitive, just to experience the fun of driving a billycart.

The championships are at the Carindale Recreation Reserve as an attraction at the Green Heart Fair. See our Location page for a map.

Admission to the Green Heart Fair and Billycarts is FREE!

To race a cart it is just one Registration Fee of $8 per person.

Carindale Rotary’s aluminium ramp system will launch carts down the hill. Organisers expect carts to reach highest speeds up to 30kph.

Age groups for 2017 are:

  • 4 and 5 years
  • 6 to 8 years
  • 9 to 12 years
  • 13 years and above

See our How to Build a Billycart guide.

Registration is only $8 per driver. See the link to pre-purchase tickets
